When Fred Blackall joined BMW Manufacturing in 2015, he scored 100% on their two-hour analytical and mechanical aptitude entrance exam, a result that led the VP of Logistics to personally seek him out that afternoon and invite him to join the logistics team.
For over 13 months Fred audited 70+ supplier facilities for the X7 program. He also identified and adjusted a critical process sequence issue in the X7 factory plans that prevented a potential 1500 cars per day production disruption. He developed additional production line and transportation changes that saved BMW millions of dollars. Fred was selected to attend BMW's Advanced Logistics Program at the University of Utah where he received the highest score in the group.
